Key Services available at Maghull Advice Centre (MAC) The MAC is
open Monday to Thursday and an appointment may not be necessary.
It is important that clients who use
Maghull Advice Centre (MAC)
understand how they can be
supported and receive their full
entitlement of benefits as
demonstrated by the following
case study from Sefton CAB: At Maghull Advice Centre, our
Citizens Advice advisers are
helping local people feel more
secure and supported every day.
One resident came to the centre
unsure if they were receiving the
right benefits while managing
health issues and caring
responsibilities at home. By
taking the time to carry out a full
check, our adviser identified a
missing element in their Universal
Credit. With support, this was
added to their claim and
backdated.
This increased their income by
over £200 a month, alongside a
back payment just over £1500,
reducing financial pressure and
bringing peace of mind. It’s a
great example of the difference
expert advice can make. This
provided relief from financial
pressures and provided an
opportunity to talk through issues
affecting the whole household.
In the first quarter of 2026 the
Sefton CAB at the MAC has
supported 121 clients and
secured £149,687 in income gain
and other outcomes. The key
areas of support centre on
benefits and universal credit, debt
advice as well as helping clients
cope with household bills and
signposting to charitable support.
