MAGHULL
TOWN HALL
UPDATE
Three months on from the Town
Council confirming a settlement
agreement with its insurance
provider following last year’s
fire, recovery works at the Town
Hall continue to move forward.
WHATS BEEN HAPPENING?
Over the past year, significant work
has already been undertaken to
make the building safe, protect it
from further deterioration and
allow parts of the site to remain
operational. This has included the
installation of the temporary
rooftop scaffold, removal of
hazardous materials,
reinstatement of power supplies
and a range of statutory safety
works. The Council has also
continued to deliver services
throughout this period while
maintaining day-to-day
operations from unaffected areas
of the building.

Since the agreement with insurers
was reached, the project has now
moved into the next phase of
recovery works. Adaptations to the
rooftop scaffold are currently
underway to facilitate the next
stage of demolition and structural
works, while electrical rewiring and
gas supply works have also
commenced.
Heating system installations are
scheduled as part of this ongoing
programme of essential
infrastructure works.
