Hello residents of Maghull
As another year draws to a close,
Maghull Town Council’s Grounds
Maintenance Team has been hard
at work preparing our green spaces
for the months ahead. The
transition from autumn into winter
always brings a busy period for our
team, as we focus on ensuring that
our parks remain safe, attractive,
and environmentally sustainable for
everyone to enjoy, both now and
into the spring.
Across Maghull’s parks and open
spaces, our team have been
carrying out essential seasonal
work, including tidying up
pathways, pruning trees and
shrubs, re-planting and maintaining
hedgerows to improve safety and
visibility. These winter tasks may
not always be the most visible to
residents, but they play a vital role
in keeping our parks healthy and
welcoming all year round.
This year has also seen an
expansion of our biodiversity and
replanting programme. Following
the success of previous
tree-planting initiatives.
We’re delighted to confirm that
over 60 new trees have been
introduced across sites including
Ballswood, Glenn Park, and Old
Hall Park. The tree planting
programme not only helps replace
trees lost to age or disease but
also enhances local ecosystems,
providing food and shelter for
birds, and insects.
To further enhance the biodiversity
of our parks, the GM team has also
planted over 1000 bulbs across our
parks. These include a colourful
mix of daffodils, tulips and Dutch
iris, chosen for their vibrancy and
their ability to attract pollinators
such as bees and butterflies.
As we look ahead to 2026, Maghull
Town Council remains committed
to balancing the essential upkeep
of our green spaces with our wider
environmental responsibilities.
We’re proud of the dedication
shown by our Grounds
Maintenance Team and deeply
grateful for the continued support
of residents, volunteers, and
community groups who help us
care for Maghull’s parks
throughout the year.
