CHRISTMAS FLOAT
For many years the local Rotary
Club has had the pleasure and
privilege of bringing to the residents
of Maghull, the spirit of Christmas
with seasonal greetings and
messages of goodwill. This is
achieved by visits to most parts of
the local community by Father
Christmas, accompanied by his
team of willing helpers, in his
brightly coloured Christmas Float,
handing out small presents to
children to the tune of carols and
other festive music. The visit of
Father Christmas always seems to
create such a happy and
spontaneous atmosphere which is
readily embraced by the residents.
It is always very gratifying to see the
faces of the young children glow
with delight as they tell Santa just
what they want him to bring them
on Christmas morning.
Whilst we normally issue a schedule
of particular areas visited with
dates, we now find that this is no
longer practical as we do not have
enough members to operate the
Float to enable it to cover even the
majority of Maghull and district,
particularly with the ever increasing
number of houses in the area. Any
local resident who wishes to help us
with this project would be most
welcome.

We have fixed dates in December
(from 9.30am to 5.30pm) for the
siting of the Float, with Father
Christmas, at MORRISON’S
supermarket Maghull (We really
appreciate the assistance
provided by MORRISON’S who
have yet again demonstrated their
support for the local community):
