Key Services available at Maghull Advice Centre (MAC) The MAC is
open Monday to Thursday and an appointment may not be necessary.
The MAC was established by MTC in
February 2023 and provides services
to local residents in Maghull and
Lydiate. The MAC aims to offer
support to vulnerable people who
need help with claiming benefits and
assistance they are entitled to.
In the last quarter, June to
September, our main service provider
Sefton Citizens Advice have dealt
with 79 clients with a range of
benefits, debt, housing, health
consumer and employment issues.
During this period nearly £27,000 was
secured for clients in direct financial
gains with further outcomes pending.
We work closely with partner
agencies including Sefton CA,
National Energy Action, Living Well
Sefton, Sefton CVS, Matthew Lock
ADHD charity, Halifax Bank,
independent financial advisors and
Bell Lamb and Joynson solicitors to
provide a broad range of services
that people can access locally rather
than having to travel to other parts of
the borough or even further afield.

Most of the MAC’s clients receive
support face to face by visiting the
centre where they meet with one of
our excellent volunteers who can
guide people to the support they
need. Advice can sometimes be
provided over the phone, but
appointments are required for more
detailed conversations with Sefton
CA. If we can’t help, then we are
able to signpost you to
organisations that can.
So if you find yourself in need of
support or advice please contact
the MAC either in person or call on
0151 245 3895. The MAC is open
Monday to Thursday from 10am to
4pm with Sefton CA attending on
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and
Thursdays. For further information
please check the Council’s website
http://www.maghull-tc.gov.uk/
We welcome new volunteers to join
our wonderful team. If you might be
interested in helping out at the MAC
please contact
0151 526 3705 or e-mail
info@maghull-tc.gov.uk to have a
chat about what this involves.
