Bringing Global Colour to the
Peace Garden at KGV
Maghull in Bloom and Maghull Town Council have been busy working together
on the second phase of the Peace Garden at King George V Playing Fields, and
it’s really starting to take shape!
This phase includes a wonderful mix of trees and plants from around the
world, each chosen to bring year-round colour, texture, and interest. Among
them are:
·Ginkgo biloba – Ancient tree from China with stunning golden autumn leaves.
·Acer 8Crimson King9 – Bold Norway maple with rich, deep-red foliage.
·Euonymus 8Compactus9 – Famous burning bush, glowing red in autumn.
·Cornus 8Sibirica9 – Red-stemmed dogwood that adds bright winter colour.
·Tamarix ramosissima – Soft, airy pink blossoms loved by pollinators.
·Miscanthus 8Strictus9 – Ornamental grass from Japan with feathery plumes.
·Metasequoia (Dawn Redwood) – A living fossil tree.
Together, these plants will create a peaceful and colourful space that
celebrates biodiversity and tranquillity in our own little corner of the world
right here in Maghull !!
A huge thank you to the amazing Maghull in Bloom volunteers for their
dedication and hard work.
