Spotlight on
Children9s Services rated 8Good9 by OFSTED
Sefton Council9s Children9s Services
have been rated 8Good9 in their most
recent OFSTED inspection; a
significant milestone that recognises
the dedication and hard work of staff,
leadership teams, and partner
organisations. This positive outcome
reflects the improvements made in
safeguarding, care, and support for
children and young people across the
borough. Congratulations to
everyone involved in achieving this
success.
A59 improvements
The long-awaited A59 improvement
scheme is now nearing completion,
and it was wonderful to see Kenyon9s
Lane reopen recently.
Although there were unavoidable
delays caused by unexpected
drainage issues, these works were
essential to ensure the road9s safety
and longevity. We appreciate
residents9 patience throughout the
disruption. The final results
demonstrate Sefton9s commitment to
sustainable transport, road safety,
and active travel, providing smoother
journeys and better facilities for
drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians
alike.

Community Safety and
Tackling Anti-Social
Behaviour
Community safety remains a key
priority for both Maghull Town
Council and Sefton Council. In recent
months, there has been excellent
partnership work between the
council, Merseyside Police, the Police
and Crime Commissioner, and
Maghull Cricket Club to address
incidents of anti-social behaviour
(ASB) and promote positive
community engagement.
The cricket club has played a leading
role in offering young people a safe,
structured, and welcoming
environment, encouraging
participation in sport as an
alternative to ASB.
